Why You Should Harness the Power of a Positive Attitude

A positive attitude is proven to be good for your health.

I'm a strong believer that you control what happens in your life. Too many times people blame others, fate, or circumstances for things that go wrong in their lives. I know of several people who would be better off if they were more positive. In a way I guess these people have a more pessimistic outlook on life. I believe it's more about balance. Having a positive attitude causes you to look at things in a different way. We all have choices that we make every day. It's almost like choosing to win or fail.

The first step to controlling what happens in your life is to harness the power of positive thought. If you don't believe that a positive attitude can change anything, let me challenge you to a little experiment. Go for a short walk at the mall, around your office at work, or just anywhere that people gather. As you walk, put a smile on your face. You will be surprised at the reaction you get from people. There have been times when I have had a smile on my face and not been aware of it. But I have noticed the smiles I receive back from people that pass me by. What can I say; I'm just a happy person.

When you have a positive attitude you won't be inclined to have a pity party for yourself when something goes wrong. Everyone has good and bad days. Don't think that you are the only one being singled out for bad things to happen to. Negative energy is a waste of time. If more people directed their feelings towards the positive, can you imagine what a different place the world would be?

Not only is a positive attitude the way to accomplish things in your life, but it's also a healthy thing. For instance, the Mayo clinic says that a positive attitude reduces stress. Stress causes a lot of health problems. It's proven that a positive attitude increases longevity, and decreases the chances of death from cardiovascular disease. To me this alone is a good reason to work towards a more positive attitude.

You must know that circumstances change. Nothing ever stays the same and for the most part you want things to change. If you are going through a difficult time, change is your friend. Eventually things get better, and they improve faster when you think positive. Why? Because when you stay positive you do things that push towards good results.

Nothing good was ever accomplished with being negative. Think about it. I can't, I don't want to, no; are these ways to build anything or accomplish goals? Not that I know of. So use the power of a positive attitude, and you'll never regret it. You can do anything you want and you can accomplish great things. I'm not saying it won't be hard, but anything is possible.
